The World According to Cyprian, #18

Yesterday, when Cyprian asked me to start framing his artwork for him, I pointed to our picture of Jesus walking on the water with St. Peter sinking for lack of faith and told Cyprian that I'd start framing his output when he made pictures like that. Though I was referring to quality, Cyprian took me differently, and here's his version of that picture:

The question is: Do I, true to my word, have to frame it???

Have the boys start making their own frames--seems like a typical Kleinshire activity/product.

Food products available locally right now:

Chicken stock/broth ($3/jar)

Rosemary's secret recipe and a labor of love, the stock is produced from our own organically fed chickens and mostly certified organic products. Available frozen in repurposed jars, it's a delicious starter for soup during the coming colder winter months.

Eggs ($3.50/dozen)

Our eggs come in a wide variety of sizes and colors, including green-tinted eggs from the Ameraucana hens. They have healthy, thick shells and vibrant yellow yolks. Though we use conventional layer crumble for our laying flock, the hens also free range and feast on bugs and table scraps. We're especially looking for regular customers who would come to pick up their own eggs or who could pick them up Sunday mornings at St. Catherine's in Wake Forest.

Organically fed whole chicken ($4.25/lb)

These veritable giants among free-ranging Cornish Rocks dine sumptuously on certified organic broiler grower and also feast on bugs, worms, and table scraps. You really can taste the difference.

Nigerian Dwarf Goats

We sometimes have registrable Nigerian dwarf goat kids or young goats available from our own milk herd. Please enquire about availability.

Breeding services

We currently have two herd sires, Plum Rotten Oreo and The Rocky Balboa, who both have excellent pedigrees. Oreo, the elder of the two, is well regarded locally, and has thrown healthy kids for a number of previous owners. He is also the sire of our own first round of babies. For health reasons, we are very careful about herd security, but with the right circumstances we are willing to consider servicing does from outside herds. Please enquire if interested.

Disbudding and wethering

Disbudding and wethering are loathed but necessary tasks for many goat owners. We are willing to do these for you; we're open to negotiating a price or even bartering for quid pro quo products or services. Please contact us if interested.
